Weekend in Bilbao
I spent last weekend in Bilbao. It was nice and a bit relaxing, mostly because I didn´t call anyone I should have called ...
The flight was astoundingly uneventful. Got run over by a couple of idiots who were trying to reach the Nice gate, but I managed to get one of the first places in the Bilbao queue (I fully recommend this if you want to store your luggage with tranquillity ... you cannot imagine the amount of luggage people bring as carry-on ... and the complaints when they are forced to leave it at the gate).
Saturday was fully dedicated to a walk along the Punta Galea path, from Bidezabal metro station to Larrabasterra. Gorgeous weather, and even better the new walk opened a couple of weeks ago by the Getxo town major ... In one year time there will be local elections, so now it is the moment for openings (not near home, anyway ... the works are worse than ever, extremely complicated to drive around).
We had tickets for Brisville´s "Le Diner" with Flotats and Carmelo Gomez. I had already seen it last year, and it didn´t disappoint me, although you could feel that they are dying to finish. They have been doing it for a long time, and it is a two-men tour de force, the whole 90 minutes on stage without resting a little bit.
Sunday morning was dedicated to a walk to the Euskalduna, a couple of pintxos in the Asador Indusi at the Zubiarte shopping mall (the girls at the bar are very nice, and it is inexpensive), return home and watch the F1 Monaco race. Actually, I wanted Raikkonen to win, I wonder why ... The afternoon was more boring ... I had to check bank papers ... boring, boring, boring ... I have to pay so much money ... the holidays are go¡ng to hell straight away ...
And then, I was so nice to change seats with a dad in the plane. They had been separated and they were very grateful, but I wasn´t so grateful when I found out that my companion was spilling into my seat. I moved down the arm seat, and he told me that he wasn´t comfortable enough (and a guy in front of me said that he should have paid for two seats ...).
I arrived home in Madrid at 23:00, and tried to organize a bit the house. I even changed the sheets (Ali and Pedro had been staying the weekend), and dropped dead after midnight ...

Holidays redux
So, I was planning to go to India next August with a couple of people
from work.
The most careful plans usually don´t work out as you plan them. I had
asked Mum and Ali to bring me books, pictures, maps, guides ... I had
checked in boards and asked people around, and at the end, my boss
decided that it would be interesting to have someone around here during
the month of August.
So, I have bowed out of the trip, and I am now trying to get him to
agree to three weeks beginning on the 21st of August. In that case, I
would probably end up going to London for a week, with mum and "Juanito"
... that will be "funny" ...
